ERIK AND BRENDA SLOVIN JOIN FORCES WITH NATIONAL HEADACHE
AWARENESS WEEK TO COMBAT GROWING EPIDEMIC OF HEADACHE PAIN
Norwalk,
CT, June 4, 2007 - In conjunction with National Headache
Awareness Week, June 3-7, 2007, Drs. Erik and Brenda Slovin,
D.C., are participating in nationwide efforts to bring headache
awareness, education and relief to millions of Americans
who suffer daily from the pain of debilitating headaches.
The
goals of National Headache Awareness Week are:
- To
gain recognition of headache pain as a real and legitimate
condition,
- To
encourage sufferers to see a health care professional
for proper diagnosis and treatment, and
- To
let sufferers know that there are new treatments available.
This
year's theme, Seven Healthy Habits of Headache Sufferers,
gives sufferers practical advice for living a full, healthy
life, free from headache pain. This theme validates the
fact that headache sufferers can take natural, drug-free
steps to enjoy a better quality of life.
Between
70-80% of all Americans experience chronic headache pain
at least once per week and a large body of research indicates
that poor posture and spinal misalignment may be responsible.
Yet, many people fail to recognize the connection between
healthy cervical spine alignment and headaches.
The
following are a few headache pain symptoms for which chiropractic
treatment is not only appropriate, but also highly effective:
- Headache
that causes difficulty in thinking or memory
- Sudden
first-time onset of severe headaches
- Headache
accompanied by sensitivity to light and sound
- Sudden
vision problems associated with a headache
- Elevated
blood pressure in conjunction with a headache
- Changes
in pulse rate or respiration associated with a headache
Chiropractic
care has a strong track record of incredible success in
treating most forms of benign headaches. It has even proven
to be very successful in treating and eliminating debilitating
migraine pain - without the danger of potentially harmful
drugs.
Clinical
studies have repeatedly shown that chiropractic treatment
of headache pain enjoys consistently spectacular success
rates ranging between 72-98%. Unlike many prescription or
over-the-counter medications, chiropractic causes no adverse
or allergic reactions, no potential drug interaction, and
no drug-induced drowsiness
